Dr. Dorothy E. Hooks' Biography

Dr. Dorothy E. Hooks, PsyD is the Author of "Unholy Matrimony: Healing For The Abused Woman," which she wrote because she knows what it feels like to be abused, helpless, hopeless, and homeless, her heart goes out to hurting people. Dr. Hooks was a victim of domestic violence from 19 years old to 54 years old; basically, her whole life was spent in abusive relationships. But today, God has totally delivered her out of the bondage of abuse by His grace and mercy and she gives Him all the glory. Now, Dr. Hooks is the Founder and CEO of The Lula McGrady Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) Christian based nonprofit organization.

The organization was formed out of Dr. Hooks' passion to help victims of all forms of domestic abuse learn how to live independently. Read the testimony of Dr. Hooks' glorious victory through God in her book, "Unholy Matrimony: Healing For The Abused Woman."

To warn women about the consequences of marrying outside the will of God. I do not want women to live their lives in bondage as I did. Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly.

In my book, "Unholy Matrimony: Healing For The Abused Woman," I talk about the consequences of marrying out of God's will. This is very important because when we marry out of God's will, we form ungodly soul ties and this will most likely cause us to become victims of domestic violence.

God is the only One who can bring you out of an abusive relationship. Remember though, when you come out, you will have wounds and before you get into another relationship, you must allow God to heal you.
